Creating an Estimate
Step-by-step guide to creating a smart home estimate using the 3-step wizard — property details, room configuration, and report generation.
The estimate wizard has three steps: Property Details → Room Configuration → Report.
Step 1 — Property Details
Select or create a contact
Search for an existing customer or type a new name to create a contact on the fly.
Enter property information
- Property type: 1BHK, 2BHK, 3BHK, Villa, Penthouse, Commercial, etc.
- Carpet area: Total area in square feet
- Construction status: Under Construction or Ready to Move
Upload a floor plan
Upload a JPG or PNG image of the floor plan. This is used in the next step to map rooms visually.
Enable AI Floor Plan Analysis to have the system automatically detect rooms from the uploaded image. You can adjust the detected rooms manually afterward.
Select automation categories
Check the categories to include in this estimate (e.g., Smart Home, Security, Smart Lights, Curtain Rollers, Climate Control, Energy Management, and more). These match the categories you selected during onboarding.
Set preferences (optional)
Override your default technology preferences for this specific estimate — wiring type, protocol, and brand preferences.
Click Proceed to move to room configuration, or Save as Draft to continue later.
Step 2 — Room Configuration
This is the most detailed step. You'll see your floor plan as an interactive map with a device panel.
Draw rooms on the floor plan
Click and draw polygons on the floor plan to define each room. Label each room (e.g., "Master Bedroom", "Kitchen", "Living Room").
If you enabled AI Floor Plan Analysis, rooms are pre-detected. You can rename, resize, or add new rooms as needed.
Add devices to each room
Select a room, then browse or search the product catalog to add devices. For each device, set:
- Quantity — how many units for this room
- Placement — where in the room (optional)
Use the AI Co-Pilot (optional)
Toggle the Co-Pilot sidebar for AI-powered device recommendations based on the room type and your selected automation categories. Click Add to estimate on any suggestion to include it.
Review the device list
Each room shows a table of all assigned devices with quantities. You can edit or remove devices at any time.
Click Generate Report when all rooms are configured.
Step 3 — Report
The system calculates pricing and generates a comprehensive report:
- Automation Score — ratings across five dimensions (Security & Safety, Comfort & Climate, Lighting & Atmosphere, Energy Efficiency, Smart Living) showing how complete the automation setup is, with an Improve button for each category that suggests specific devices to raise the score
- AI Recommendations — additional device suggestions you might have missed, with one-click add
- Itemised Estimate Table — every device listed with unit price, quantity, GST, discounts, and line totals
- Summary — subtotal, total GST, and grand total
You can edit quantities and prices inline directly in the table before sharing with the client.
Click Edit to go back to Step 1 and make changes. The report regenerates automatically when you return.
